Risk Management – Workplace Safety

Risk Management – Workplace Safety

Risk Management and Safety Training are key components of a successful risk management strategy. After all, the best accident is the one that never happens. Our Risk Management staff works with members to establish and embed an on-going risk management culture which focuses on identification of risk, assessment of risk, establishment of risk controls, and continued review as to the effectiveness of established controls.  Our staff has extensive OSHA experience which we bring to bear focusing on both compliance and utilization of the many risk identification, control analysis, and monitoring tools they support. Through utilization of this process while working closely with the claims team and member staff, we have been able to help members avoid critical losses while creating a safe workplace environment.

If a serious accident does occur, our Risk Managers will conduct an accident investigation to identify the root cause of the loss, evaluate and recommend corrective measures, and monitor the effectiveness of these measures, once implemented. In addition, if our claims team identifies an accident trend, they quickly alert our Risk Managers who will again analyze the root causes and provide potential solutions to prevent future occurrences. Our Risk Managers have experience developing specific training and programs targeting common loss types as well as creating forums that support a strong safety culture. Examples include:

* Developing a back, knee or wrist program
* Establishing a safety awards program
* Developing a work-site safety program
* Assisting with Safety Committee formation and implementation
* Implementing CDL, alcohol and drug testing
* Initiating pre-placement physical programs
* Creating fleet safety and driver training programs

Additional specialize services we offer include:

* Historical exposure and accident analysis
* Industrial hygiene programs
* Property surveys, inspections and appraisals
